Where it all began

Where it all began - The Entrepreneurs dream that changed everything

Bonjour, mon ami,

As I sit writing this from our farmhouse in the French countryside, with church bells echoing across the valley and the scent of freshly cut hay drifting through the open window, it would be easy to tell you that this story is about France.

But the truth is…It never was.

France was simply the destination. The real story is about freedom. And every freedom story begins with a dream.

Mine started in the back seat of a car.

Every summer when I was growing up, my parents would somehow squeeze an entire family's worth of camping equipment into a car that felt far too small for the adventure ahead.

Sleeping bags. Tent poles. Folding chairs. Camping stoves. Cool boxes. Buckets and spades. Then we'd set off. Across the Channel. Into France.

To my childhood self, it felt like crossing into another world.

I remember warm evenings that never seemed to end. Fresh baguettes tucked under an arm on the walk back from the boulangerie. Bustling markets filled with sounds and smells that felt wonderfully unfamiliar.

Tiny villages. Sunflowers. Shutters painted blue.

And somewhere during those years, without even noticing it happening, I fell in love.

Not with France itself. With how France made me feel.

Free. Relaxed. Curious. Alive.

I didn't know it then, but a seed had been planted. One that would quietly wait decades before it finally grew.

Fast forward thirty years. Life looked very different. I had built businesses. Raised children. Opened studios. Managed teams. Taught thousands of students. Solved countless problems. Created systems. Built a successful career doing work I genuinely loved.

But like so many business owners, I had unknowingly built myself a cage. A comfortable cage. A successful cage. But a cage nonetheless. Because my business depended on me being there. Physically there. If I wasn't in the building, the business struggled. If I wasn't teaching, things slowed down. If I wasn't present, opportunities were limited.

For years, I assumed that was simply the price of success. Then everything changed.

I made a decision that would alter the course of my life forever. I began teaching what I knew instead of simply doing what I knew. The expertise I'd spent decades building suddenly became something I could package, share, coach, and deliver online.

At first, it was simply a business decision. A pivot. A new revenue stream. A way to help more people. What I didn't realise was that it was also the first step toward creating an entirely different life.

Because one day, a thought appeared. A small thought. A dangerous thought. The kind of thought that changes everything once it enters your mind.

What if I could wake up anywhere in the world and still serve clients, create impact, earn an income, and build a future?

Then came the question that hit even harder.

If I could live anywhere… Would I choose to stay exactly where I am? My answer arrived instantly. No.

Not because I disliked my life. Quite the opposite. But because I realised something profound. Success and freedom are not always the same thing. And for the first time, I understood that I could build both.

Of course, we didn't move to France the following week. Life isn't a movie montage. There were responsibilities.

A husband. A son still in school. Financial decisions. Practical considerations.
A thousand reasons why the dream would need to wait. But something shifted the moment I allowed myself to believe it was possible.

France stopped being a holiday destination. It became a vision. A future. A direction. A destination on the horizon. And that's when I discovered something fascinating.

Long before your life changes externally, it changes internally. You start seeing opportunities differently. You make different decisions. You notice possibilities you would have ignored before. You begin building toward a future that nobody else can see yet. For years, almost nothing changed on the outside. Yet everything was changing underneath.

The business evolved. The systems improved. The online coaching grew. The foundations strengthened. And every decision quietly moved us one step closer.

Not just to France. To freedom.

People often ask whether I believe in manifestation. I do. But probably not in the way social media talks about it. I don't believe you can sit on a sofa, think positive thoughts, and expect the universe to deliver your dream life before lunchtime.

What I do believe is this:

Every transformation starts with permission.
Permission to imagine.
Permission to want more.
Permission to believe your future doesn't have to look like your present.
Because before there can be a strategy...
Before there can be action...
Before there can be a plan...
There has to be a thought.
And once that thought takes root, remarkable things begin to happen.

So let me leave you with a question. Not a practical question. Not a sensible question. Not a spreadsheet question. A dream question.

If there was no chance of failure...
If everything worked out exactly as you'd hoped...
If your expertise could support you from anywhere...
What would your life look like?
Where would you live?
How would your days feel?
What would you stop doing?
What would you start doing?
Who would you become?

Don't answer with logic. Answer with imagination.

Because the life I'm living today began with nothing more than a dream that seemed completely unrealistic at the time. And perhaps the next chapter of your life is waiting for exactly the same thing.

Permission.

Until next time, mon ami.

À bientôt,
